Obituary of Johnny Lewis Miller Sr.

Johnny Lewis Miller, Jr., son of the lateOtto and Stuckey was born on July 8, 1947. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and matriculated through the New York City Board of Education and attended Boys High School.

At an early age, John showed that he was excellent with his hands. If it needed to be fixed, he tried his hand at it. And more times than not, he was successful in fixing what was broken.

John was affectionately called "Big John" and "Poppa" by those who were close to him. His gifted hands allowed him to work as a general Contractor, Mechanic, and Carpenter. John was sympathetic when it came to others. And when it comes to having fun and being the life of the party, you could always depend on John to be that man. He was full of life and he absolutely loved his grandchildren.

On Sunday, January 21, 2018, the Lord saw fit to call him home and thus, he departed from this world.

John was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Daisy Stuckey, brother Sterling Stuckey (Butch), Sister-in-law Roberta Stuckey and son Michael Jacob.

He leaves to mourn: Wife, Caroline Miller; Sons, Tywan Jacob (Apra Heights, Guam), Johnny Miller, Jr. (Sumpter, SC), Charles Jacob and daughter-in-law, Dr. Keisha Gill-Jacob (North East, MD); daughter, Joyce Jacob (Ft. Lauderdale, FL); brother, David Stuckey (queens, NY); good friend, Denise Jacob, Godfather Mr. Vinny Bellamy, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
