Obituary of Julie Odell Ewan

Mother, We give thanks for your Love, Joy, Wisdom, and most of all yourself. For this we are eternally Grateful.

Julie Odell Ewan, 56, of Brooklyn, New York passed away April 3rd, 2019, in her home with the ones she loves by her side.

She was born April 18, 1963, in Queens, New York to Jean & Harold Ewan. Her family later relocated to Saranac Lake, New York. Where she spent her teenage years. She had six siblings Dirk, Cathy, Deborah, Robert, and Samuel. She graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1981. That same year she visited New York City which was only for vacation, and never left. She found comfort in permanently living and raising her children in Brooklyn, New York. In 1984 she met Anthony Gomez the farther of all her Five children.

She had a heart of gold and was a free spirit. There was not a person in the world she wouldn’t help. Her laugh was contagious and her sense of humor was one of a kind. She had an answer to every question and a solution to every problem. She gave inspiration to others even on her weakest days. You got to faith she would say and it’s all going to work out was her motto.

She lived for her children Moses Alexander Ewan, October 12, 1985. Pamela Jean Ewan, April 28, 1988. Elias Harold Ewan, October 28, 1989. Richard Anthony Ewan, February 25, 1993. Briella Ewan, September 6, 1997. There was nothing in this world she wouldn’t do for them.

She was an extraordinary Mother, amazing grandmother. A understanding and loving sister. A thoughtful aunt, her mother’s baby, and a judiciously nonjudgmental friend. She is survived her mother Jean, sister Deborah Ewan Howitt, and brother Samual Joshua III. Her five loving children. Seven grandchildren Chasheem Ewan, Rishawna Ewan, Zander Smith, Symphony Ewan, Josiah Ewan, Arya Rowe, and Daniel Ewan. Countless nieces and nephews. Her pet cat Batina Ewan.  And an enormous group of extremely divers friends.
