Obituary of Arthur Herbert Lorde Sr.

Arthur "Buster" Herbert Lorde Sr. born in Brooklyn, New York on April 22, 1930 was the loving son of the late Cecil Lorde and Gwendolyn Cane. Arthur survived his twin sister Dolly and his siblings Marcel, Kenneth, Gerald, Sandra, Manny and Horace. Arthur was a bereaved parent. He lost his sons Arthur "Billy" Jr, Monty, and Aaron. He was raised in Brooklyn and educated in the New York School system. He was a Korean War veteran in the United States Army. After returning home from war, he married his beloved Delores Stone (Tubby) who passed away. Arthur was indoctrinated to the Nation of Islam and his name became Brother Arthur 42 X. Arthur was a father to six children. He was a dedicated furrier for Morris Tucker Fur Co for over 30 years. He was very devoted to his job and made people comfortable by learning their languages. He was very personable and compassionate towards others. Although cooking was his passion, he was an expert craftsman and numbers player. In his later years, we affectionately called him "Pop'. He might have mixed up our names, but he always knew what was going on in our lives. He is survived by his children: Malcolm, Pamell and Patrice; his daughter in laws: Linda and Nicole; his grandchildren: Arthur H. III, the late (Thomas and Baye Malik), Walida, Sheba, Nina, Malik, Mynome, Nija, Payton, Isis, Ian, and Tristan; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
